Making Placemats

This is her first experience in weaving paper.

Ruby taped each strip to the top of the poster paper with masking tape

With my Macintosh, in iPhoto, I selected various images and in the print mode created a contact
sheet and printed them out on photographic paper.  This gave her a big selection to chose from.

At the same time Oscar is making a cover for his father's loseleaf binder with drawings and stickers for Father's Day

Ruby is learning to weave

She really enjoyed concentrating on this and loved the colors

Ruby was very pleased with her results.  The picture of the house is actually a
photograph of a picture her father made when he was about 5 years old.

Ruby presented on Father's Day the placemat she made for her father.
He had this laminated at Kinkos during the week.

On another occasion I found some picture cards of animals and Ruby decided to make a placemat with them for herself.  I covered this with contact clear on both sides instead of laminating it to see how durable it would be.
During a halloween visit I chose a large size paper from Kinkos and covered it on
both sides with clear contact sheets.  Then I decorated the sides with pumpkin stickers
and they had an assortment of sticker images to chose from to put on their individual place mats.
